Altoona

The City of Altoona and UPMC are proud to partner in support of Minutes Matter, a UPMC community initiative. Minutes Matter aims to inform and empower the people who live in Altoona and the surrounding communities with basic emergency information and education related to cardiac events, overdoses, uncontrolled bleeding, and mental health.

Emergencies can happen anywhere, from our homes to our public spaces, and even basic information about life-saving interventions can help save a life. From calling 911 to locating an AED to knowing how to access support from a trained crisis counselor via 988, every person can be more prepared.

Minutes Matter in the Altoona Community

Have you ever tried a chest compression or learned how to administer Narcan®? Would you know how to help someone with a serious bleeding injury? UPMC experts will be onsite at community events and activities throughout Erie to help bring visibility to these life-saving interventions, talk more about how important training is, and give people opportunities to see how they could help save a life.
